Registration Information
In District Students
High School Summer School for Current Novi Students:
It is the responsibility of the student to work with their counselor regarding the appropriate course selection for credit.

It is the responsibility of the student to work with their counselor regarding the impact (positive or negative) that summer school coursework may have on the student’s GPA/Graduation requirements.

Payment is expected via Credit Card at time of registration.

The Summer School Enrollment form will be available in your student portal beginning May 1st. Below are the directions:

Access PowerSchool Student or Parent Portal here. Please login using your personal credentials.

Once you are logged in, please scroll down on the left side of the screen and choose "Forms." Once you have selected "Forms," scroll across the top and select "Enrollment." Select "Summer School Enrollment." There are two forms that will be required to be completed, to register for Summer School.

Once those forms are complete, you will be directed to the Digital Signup page to select and pay for your Summer School classes. If you have any trouble accessing your parent or student portal, please email parentportal@novik12.org. For Summer School information or questions, please call (248) 449-1714.

FAQ
Who can attend Summer School?
- A student in good academic standing entering in the 9th - 11th grade.
- A student who is interested in taking classes for credit advancement.
- A student who has failed a required course and needs to make that up (Credit Recovery using Edgenuity). Students enrolled in credit recovery can take up to (2) credits each session.
- A student who wants to open up their schedule for the following year.
How many credits can I earn?

Students can earn one (1) credit total (session 1 & 2) upon successful completion of course, final exam and required attendance

Credit Recovery students can take up to (2) credits in (session 1 & 2). Students will take online course on Edgenuity, two classes per session maximum. Students will work in a classroom onsite.

Credit will be determined by home school for out-of-district students.
What is the Summer School Schedule?
- Session I - June 19, 2023-July 5, 2023 (No school July 3 & 4) (Final Exam July 5, 2023)
- Session II - July 6, 2023- July 20, 2023 (Final Exam July 20, 2023)
What time does the class begin and end?
- Classes are from 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
What is the Tuition?
- Novi Student: $310 per class (0.5 credit)
- Out-of-district Students: $340 per class (0.5 credit)

What is the Attendance/Credit/Policy?
- Students are REQUIRED to attend the entire 22-day session. No exceptions.
- Students whose vacation and/or camp schedule interferes with the summer school schedule should not enroll.
- Attendance violation will result in being dropped from the class, no refund, and loss of credit.
- Novi Summer School is an intensive fast-paced program that offers the opportunity to earn a .5 credit in 11 days.
What is the Code of Conduct?
- The Novi Community Schools code of Conduct will be followed by all summer school students.
- Summer School is a closed campus program.
- No visitors are permitted on school property except for district employees.
- Students will not be permitted to stay in their cars during school hours and smoking is not permitted on school property.
What about Lunch?
- Students need to bring lunch to school
What happens if I drop before classes start?
- Classes run based on enrollment numbers, last minute cancellations affect staffing and program format. There is a $75 cancellation fee for classes that are cancelled within 72 hours of course start date.
What about refunds once Summer School starts?
Once summer school begins, withdrawal fees will be as follow:

Day 5: No refund plus an E

There will be a $10 class transfer fee for students requesting to make a class change.

Summer School Refresher Classes PreK - 6th

Summer refresher classes offer a review and reinforce what students learned during the past school year. Please register for the grade attended during the 2022-2023 school year.
PreK-6th Grade: JUNE 19, 2023 - JULY 20, 2023 (no School July 3 & 4)

Please Note: The 2023 Novi Summer Camp (formerly C.A.R.E.) will be held at Deerfield. Students enrolled in Grades K-6 Summer School may participate in the 2023 Novi Summer Camp program. Summer School English for ELL Students

- Grades K-6: This summer school class is for English Language Learners (ELL). The goal is to improve students reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in English.
